To preface this review, I recently spent two hours in a shoe store trying on running shoes and couldn't find one that was comfortable (even in the short amount of time I was wearing it in the store). I have long, narrow feet with strange arches and very narrow ankles. Most shoes are too wide around the ankle (even when laced tightly) and the toe boxes are too wide, allowing my feet to slide around and my heel to slide up and down as I run. My arches require custom orthotic inserts, which makes finding a good pair of running shoes even more difficult. I bought this pair thinking "oh, well, I can always return them." However, The back of the shoe is narrow and cushioned enough to hug my ankles, while the rest of the shoe is big enough to be able to use my own inserts without being so big that my feet look ridiculous or slide around. The inserts that came with the shoe seemed comfortable and fairly supportive, but don't work with my particular feet. I wore these shoes around the house for a couple of days, and when they passed that test, it was outdoors and running for us! I have only taken them on a relatively short run (a couple miles) along paved paths with only small hills. My foot slipped forward a tiny bit while going down some of the steeper hills, so I'm going to tighten the laces a little for my next run. But there were no material folds in the toe box rubbing on the top of my foot and I didn't slide side to side at all. Overall a good fit. I wasn't sure what to do with the free end of the laces and have to admit I studied the directions for a while (quicklace, step 1 and step 2), but eventually I realized there was a pocket in the top of the tongue (shown in one of the pictures). I've never had a pair of shoes without laces (in the traditional sense of the word) before, so we'll see how this goes. So far so good - nothing to get caught on things or come untied. I don't know if they'll hold up as well as regular laces, but I have no reason to think they won't. And they seem to stay as tight as I lace them, which is good. I am quite pleased with this purchase so far!
Would buy these shoes again! LOVE! I purchased these specifically for my section hike TRT. My feet are short and wide so it's difficult to find comfortable active shoes. These performed perfectly on the trail though, Required no "break-in" time, comfortable right out of box. Sole grips great for trekking all terrains, from slippery boulders, packed snow, uphill and downhill. I got them pretty wet walking through streams and snow, set them outside the tent at night and were completely dry by morning! Highly recommend these shoes!
This is my 6th pair! They are comfortable and supportive. I have fit issues and these fit me great. I walk everyday between 10,000 and 15,000 steps. My only complaint is that the mesh toe area develops a hole in every left shoe over time. Otherwise, they are a great shoe!
I love it. These shoes fit great and are very comfortable
The colors are as bright as the photos which I love. They are a little wide so they fit so nice without pinching. I would say they run a tiny bit large. I just can't get over how comfortable they were out of the box and how well they have held up so far. Wore them walking miles in New Orleans and the soles still look brand new! The mesh over the toes has very good airflow. The pull laces design is awesome. Slip them on, pull to tighten and go in seconds.
I bought these shoes to hike in Alaska but they didn’t come in time. I’ve always wanted these shoes so I’m keeping them anyway for work and walking/running. Comfortable so far. I’ve only worn them couple days though.
*Update* : I love these shoes. Since we have gotten snow here in West Virginia, I have had to grit my teeth and run on the snowy road. These has great traction and they keep my feet warm. I wear them everyday to work. They hold up great. I’m flat footed so I keep my custom orthotics in them and they r still roomy and comfortable. I like them so much I might buy a different color ;)
These shoes are great. They are the best hiking running shoes I've had in awhile. Still getting used to the no tie laces. My only complaint is there very wide in the front and they make my feet look huge.If you have wide feet these will fit you perfect other wise you have to wear thick socks. Ufortunately I live in Hawaii where it's very hot and prefer thin socks. I will purchase another pair though AS THEY ARE GREAT FOR BEACH RUNS AND HIKING IN THE MOUNTAINS.Two thumbs up &five stars. I have had these over 6 months and holding up great.
Excellent shoe! Super light, nice arch support, good grip, and there is nothing better than that. I didn't know this brand till now but for those of you who think name brands such as Nike, sketchers, adidas, and new balance are the best, think again. Sometimes you gotta look outside the box to find something good not defined by name brand. I likey!!!!!!!!!
You know you've found a great running shoe when you own 3 pairs. My feet are very picky and these are the ONLY, no exaggeration, that don't hurt my feet. I've tried the very expensive to the very cheap. THIS is my perfect running shoe.
I LOVED my last pair of Salomons, so I got this pair to replace the last pair (which lasted me 3 years!). Four MONTHS into owning this pair, the sheathing of the lace separated, and now I can't tighten the laces. I contacted Salomon to look into replacing the lace, and they were not helpful at all. So now I have a perfectly good shoe, but I can't just throw some new laces on because of that specialized design. Very frustrating!
